Democracy Minister outlines 'Roadmap to Votes at 16'!

In two packed and exciting days, 9 of our Votes at 16 Campaigners visited London thanks to our partners at the Politics Project. On 15 July we met hundreds of other young people who have been working on this campaign and the following day we went to Westminster for an incredible event at which the Democracy Minister, Rushanara Ali MP outlined the Government's commitment to giving all 16 and 17 year olds the vote.

We also brought a talented crew of media students from Queen's University with us and with their help, Oliver Mercer was able to interview the Minister at the end of the event. This announcement (and other changes like automatic voter registration) are enormously important and it is such a boost to see these changes happen.

Challenges remain however, as we would like to see young people vote here in the 2027 Council and Assembly elections. Why don't you join us in our efforts to make sure this happens?
